Original practice question
Find the equation of the straight line through $A(-2, 1)$ and $B(4, 10)$. Give an exact answer.
Worked explanation
- Calculate the gradient
$m=\frac{10-(1)}{4-(-2)}=\frac{3}{2}$.
- Use point-gradient form
$y-(1)=\frac{3}{2}(x-(-2))$.
- Simplify
$y=\frac{3 x}{2} + 4$.
$y=\frac{3 x}{2} + 4$.
